Cover Letter

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to express my interest in the position of home care physical therapist advertised in the Local News Dispatch and I hope that you find my skills, experiences, and qualifications worthy of consideration.

Over the last 4 years, it has become increasingly clear that I am no longer suited for traditional outpatient physical therapy care: shuffling in and out of rooms to see 3 patients at a time, in an effort to continue to meet the increasingly unrealistic demands of the private practice setting perpetuated by continual reductions in reimbursement. Instead of creating an environment that is conducive to patient care, the private practice sector has been forced to create a system of care predicated on survival. While the practices themselves have survived, quality care has not; private practice physical therapists are forced to work in a manner that is exceedingly less personal and empathetic.

Please take the time to review my resume. I believe that by providing individualized patient care with a science and evidence-based approach, coupled with a proven capacity to be simultaneously empathetic and productive, I would be a good fit with your organization’s mission “to provid[e] quality health care and related services in a timely and cost effective manner to individuals, families and organizations”

Thank you for your consideration.

Keith P.
